You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“The male usher of this funeral home on 02/14/2026 touched me inappropriately twice when I was trying to hug my cousin after viewing of her mom’s funeral (my aunt). Instead of giving VERBAL direction to not go passed him he PHYSICALLY poked me twice in n my left pectoral (breast area). I slapped his hand like a child because he had no right touching me physically in any way. Instruction is given VERBALLY not PHYSICALLY. Once confronted by my family, he lied as if he didn’t take this inappropriate action. Also, the leading car with casket left the family and the church without an organized procession. The male usher was very disrespectful and unapologetic for his actions. The service from this funeral home was very disrespectful during this tough time. They even put the wrong dates on the front of the obituary for my aunt’s sunrise & sunset. She did not die 2 years ago. She was born in 1966 not 1953. It is as if NO EFFORT was put into the home going celebration of my aunt. The funeral home just copied and pasted the info from a previous client, clearly (2years ago). I do NOT recommend the staff or service from this funeral home for your love ones. Pass them by! PLEASE.”

“This Funeral Home Sucks. Please don’t take your loved ones here. I attended a wake of my closest friends dad and experienced the hell they were receiving from this establishment. The daughter of the owner walked up to my friend and started discussing personal business in front of everybody instead of asking her to speak to her privately. Not even just that one of the family members asked this same young lady if she could start the music over and her reply I’ll do it again this time but after this y'all gone have to just clap your hands and stomp your feet like it’s on. The reviews on the funeral home before mines are REAL. She truly showed a poor customer service to a grieving family. I wouldn’t recommend this funeral home AT ALL..”

“Peaceful Rest - yeah ok! More like a stressful mess. I am leaving this review expressing my deep dissatisfaction with the services provided by your funeral home for my mother’s home going arrangements in June, 2025. During such a difficult and emotional time. I expected professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, several aspects of the service fell far short of those expectations. These failures caused me and my family unnecessary stress and distress, and we feel that the memory of our loved one was not honored in the respectful way we had hoped. When families trust a funeral home, they expect respect, dignity, and care for their loved one. Unfortunately, that trust was broken. I would not recommend this funeral home to others who want their loved one honored properly.”
