“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Anderson & Sons handled my husband’s funeral services with dignity, professional and respect. From the very first phone call with Andrew, to meeting with him in person to go over the funeral plans and package, to the funeral service and burial, we received exceptional service. They were even able to customize the image placed inside the casket lid, which was awesome. We loved that they could live stream the services so family and friends from out of state, who couldn’t make it to the funeral, could enjoy the services with us. We can now rewatch it anytime we want. Andrew and his team are so easy and great to work with. They answered all our questions and accommodated our requests. They were so kind and courteous every step of the way. We highly recommend this amazing family business for your full service funeral needs. Thank you for a providing an exceptional experience for my husband’s funeral.”

“I am so greatful for Anderson and Sons Mortuary. They were able to put my husband back together after he passed tragically allow us to have an open cassette. You could even tell what happened. They also facilitated me being able to cast out hands together, they made him available for me to see everyday. They also allowed me to ride with my husband to the cemetery. I am grateful I was able to say goodbye face to face. Thank you so much for giving that to me!”

“Recently had Andersons handle the details after my wife's passing. Our family was cordially invited into a private room where we were given the options available for her services and then allowed to pick her casket, vault and headstone. We were allowed to take our time, never hurried. We chose everything we liked. Everything was fully explained and we were allowed to see previews of the headstone for our approval. Also the programs, the tribute dvd and where we wanted the obits to appear. Very thorough and professional job from start to finish. We even stretched our time at the cemetery and the limo driver was more than happy to oblige, we never felt hurried. I guess this is why both sets of parents and numerous friends and relatives have also chosen Andersons. Nice to be treated so kindly when you are grieving.”
