“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.

“Today was my daughter’s celebration of life at the mortuary. My last vision prior to today of my daughter was not a lovely one as I found her that horrible morning. I was hoping to blur that vision with the final sight of her today. However now I have just another terrible one. Her makeup was awful! Her hair was done nothing like how she always wore it. And the worst of all was the most hideous dress they had her in due to a short sleeve shirt that was provided, just finding out that was not allowed. First of all, I would have brought something else for her had i known. Second it was absolutely the most opposite pieces of clothing anyone could had ever chose her. And lastly that dress should most definitely be thrown away so no other family has to deal with the everlasting memory of their daughter as a 1920s farm worker. They might as well put a pitchfork with her and took black a white pictures. Overall, I’m very disappointed with today’s service!!!!”
