You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“LEGACY CHOSE TO BE UNPREPARED, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND GHETTO DURING A FAMILY’S TIME OF GRIEVANCE I didn’t want to give them one star. Someone in the family recommended them to my family and it was the worst once in a lifetime homegoing memory for them. MY FAMILY PAID FULL PRICE WITH NO QUESTIONS ONLY TO RECEIVE LESS THAN WHAT WAS PAID FOR …..POOR SERVICE AND USELESS APOLOGIES for every aspect of services requested. The family trusted you all during their time of grievance and feels manipulated and scammed. What if it was your own family member? You would have been upset too. THERE WAS NO RESOLVE AND PAIN ADDED TO PAIN. 1. It was 100+ degree weather and the building’s a/c didn’t work. The family paid to have it in the chapel. NO DISCOUNT OR REFUND. JUST A USELESS APOLOGY. 2. After the preacher spoke at the gravesite, the workers weren’t compassionate and tried to rush family away. 2. The family paid for the service to be streamed for individuals who couldn’t make it. The event was recorded from across the chapel room by a cell phone that was on the floor looking at chair legs and some of the guests. The audio was poor as well. NO DISCOUNT OR REFUND. 3. The family paid for a family limo. The limo’ was late picking them up before the service and to take them to the cemetery. They stood in the heat waiting. To make matters worse the limo’s a/c didn’t work. The family had to ride in 100+ degree weather with the windows down. The driver was playing inappropriate music, speeding, and cursing at traffic. When the family returned from the cemetery, the driver cursed at some family guests of the funeral because they were parked where he was trying to park. NO DISCOUNT OR REFUND. JUST A USELESS APOLOGY. 4. The family paid Legacy to cater for the repass. Some family members ended up having to work during their time of grieving to assist Legacy to set up the repass because they were unorganized and obviously had no official staff just a few people who looked like the just showed up to help. The family also had to help set up the one small rolling a/c unit so everyone wouldn’t sweat to death. NO DISCOUNT OR REFUND. JUST A USELESS APOLOGY. 5. They cramped us into the entrance hallway like sardines to sit and eat because that was the only location the small a/c could keep cool. The limo driver went and moved it after the family put it where it should be to keep us cool. So we had to ask him to leave it where we put it. The family asked for another fan. The limo driver said he would go get one. The next time we saw him he was walking around and getting himself something to drink. NO DISCOUNT OR REFUND. JUST A USELESS APOLOGY LEGACY MEMORIAL, if you have a “God- given” conscience, you know this was wrong on so many levels. You took from a family financially and emotionally. You added pain to pain. You shouldn’t be in this business.”

“A person that I know told me about this place that has a great deal. ok let me make a review right quick about the funeral home also the positive and negative on this establishment . When I first got there it was great at the moment .but later starting to having some extremely slow experience first I called the funeral home to see what going about the death certificate . Waited about almost six months for a death certificate . Second they said I got have Identification and social security. basically I'm getting the run around . my best advice do not shop at this funeral home by any means necessary.”
