You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We recently had the difficult task of planning a funeral for our beloved matriarch, our grandmother, but the support and service we received from Brady Gill was truly exceptional. From the initial planning stages, the staff were incredibly professional, compassionate, and understanding. They guided us through every step, making a very difficult process so seamless and easy. With the tender care we needed at this difficult time. The funeral service itself was a beautiful celebration of our Grandmother's life, and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect to include a beautiful photo compilation of our deer grandma and memories with her. The music, building and overall atmosphere were all tailored to Grandma's personality and spirit. They had a beautifully architectured building with a warm comforting feeling when you entered. A large accommodating kitchen area to enjoy coffee and food we were able to bring in for our family to comfort. A private area for new mothers or someone who needed extra time. It felt like home. But what truly stood out was the kindness, empathy, and care shown by every member of your team. Especially, and a tremendous apprecistion to Alyssa and her assistant/wake attendant Josh. They were with us every step of the way, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing comfort when we needed it most. Nothing was rushed, but assurance guaranteed that our love one was cherished and celebrated. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Your dedication, compassion, and professionalism made a very tough time a whole lot easier. We couldn't have asked for more. Brady Gill comes at my highest regard and recommendation for any loved ones final rest arrangements. You wont be disappointed but leave with a sense of relief and solace. -From a truly grateful granddaughter and member of our thankful family. 🙏”

“Brady Gill is not the same place when Tim and Peggy worked there. My mom recently passed away and we went to make arrangements. Jayme met with us and said that it was a prepaid package and everything was pretty much done. I asked about the luncheon. He said we don’t call -you have to. He proceeded to give me a three ring binder of restaurants and I had to start calling. We then asked about the church. He said oh we don’t do that you have to work with the church for readings and music. This was not the case in the past. I’ve reached out to friends who have recently had a love one pass. They told me that their funeral home took care of all of it! Jayme told us that on the day of the funeral they would take some of the flowers and give to people to put in the casket at the graveside service. That never happened! The graveside service was a nightmare. We had to wait an hour in the cemetery because of “vault issues”. We get to the grave only to see that my brothers grave has been dug up and his headstone sitting in the grass! He passed in 2014. Not only is it traumatic enough to bury your mother but to go and see your brothers vault and his headstone in the grass. The cemetery blames The funeral home and the funeral home blames the cemetery. In any regard, someone needs to take responsibility and apologize for this debacle! If you look at the photo you can see the green flowers are sitting on top of my deceased brothers vault!”

“It's taken me some time and I still don't have the right words to express the amazing, compassionate and overall kind hearted experience we had with Brady gill. Their staff went above and beyond when we lost our newborn daughter, and I can't be more thankful for the support they had given myself and our family. Thank you for giving us a beautiful service that our sweet angel deserved. Knowing that your loved one is in the best of hands makes this entire situation just a bit easier which means the world in these hard times.”
