You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I have went to Teague Funeral Home for three family members. I always asked for Stephen Baker. Stephen has always treated us with respect, caring, dignity, compassion and understanding for the many many phone calls I placed to him. He also treated my loved ones with respect and the highest regard. All three looked so beautiful and at peace. Thank you Stephen”

“My parents died within a week of each other and it was an emotionally challenging time for our family. We had pre-arranged funeral service and were very impressed with the care we received from Teague Funeral Home. Teague responded quickly, took real care of our parents and helped us prepare for a joint funeral service. The arrangements were easy to select-with flowers, reception meal and service all planned at the same time. Allison and Crystal at Teague took care of the coordination and it came out beautifully. We had alot of flowers from PlantScapes as Mom was a gardener and we had a sit down meal by a catering service thru Teague (Deli-icious was the caterer) at the reception because my parents loved sharing a meal with friends/family. The service was lovely and Crystal made sure we knew what to do. She also helped us load up flowers into our vehicle after the service and made sure we knew who sent our family what flower arrangement so I could write thank you cards later. Teague made a tough time easier to navigate and our whole family was very pleased with the service and reception.”
