Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

What Families Say
“We really appreciate and highly recommend Hixson and especially our funeral director Jerry. Everything turned out very beautiful for my dad. Love always, Matthew's mom, forever 15; my dad passed unexpectedly 😢 but so grateful 🙏 for Jerry and everyone at Hixson.”
— Lin Mossow
“We recently lost a very special person to our family. My mother in law. One of the toughest times in a person's life is making arrangements for a loved one. Jerry Darby made it a quick and comfortable (as much as it could be) experience for our family. He went 100 extra miles for us. He is more than a 5 star director. Even at the times when we didn't know what to do or how to handle it he walked us through everything. I highly recommend if you need anything call him directly!!!!”
— Brooke Bower
“I got to plan my husband's cremation unexpectedly. I worked Mike and Bryce whom were amazing and compassionate through some of the toughest moments of my life. Bryce went above and beyond to make sure I knew my options and answered any questions I had. I was truly blessed by the professionalism, the love and support that was shown to me. Thank you all very much!! Joyce Daigle”
