“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Mr. Eddie Nelson and Mrs. Jackie Nelson did an awesome job with my mother's funeral arrangements. They paid attention to every detail of her appearance making sure that she looked herself. Her finger nails were even painted. The viewing service was top tier laying her in the Fairfield Room which was suited because she worked for Fairfield County for over a decade. The obituary was perfect. Prices were economical. Transportation to the funeral was top tier. The tapestry of my mother was the icing on the cake. Thank you Nelson Funeral Home for a job well done!!”

“I would tell anyone to use Nelson Funeral Home. My grandfather past in May of this year and with everything going on in the world my family from out of state was not able to attend the service. Mr. Nelson and his wonderful team did everything to make my entire family felt included. He made sure the out of state family was able to participate in the service by accommodating the three-hour time difference. My family from out of state were not only able to view the service online they were also able to sing at the service, by providing Mr. Nelson with a pre-recorded audio of the song they sung which he played as part of the program. His wife Mrs. Nelson created the most amazing slideshow for may family to receive personally. I am forever grateful to Nelson Funeral Home and will always use and recommend their services.”
