You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“This place is a mess and just a horrible place for your loved ones to be. When my brother was buried here there was no problem but over the years this place has gotten worse and ugly. The pictures below are some examples of how they treat our loved ones when we are not here. You people need to get your act together! This is not how you treat other people’s loved ones. Just disgusting and disrespectful. God bless you all!”

“If my dad had known what this place was like before he purchased lots here prior to his passing, he would be so upset. It makes me sick to my stomach how this place treats what should be a respected and sacred place, and the families and loved ones who are buried here. We have had years and years of issues with the owners and staff of this cemetery. To watching our grandfather almost be buried in the wrong space, to my father’s headstone sinking into the ground. My mother has chosen not to be buried here next to my father. What does that say about this place?”

“Customer service is severely lacking. I would never have chosen this place for my family as their final resting place, but, unfortunately, my parents made that decision without me. My mom passed away over a year ago. After paying close to $6000 for coping, it has STILL not been installed. They've had the money for 13 months and all we get is promises and excuses and "soon". I guess, they figure "no rush" with the dead people. Looking at other reviews, I see we're not the only ones in this boat. For our headstone, we went with another company, which upset Arborcrest into charging us $800 for "marking", whatever that means. We still ended up with a better price AND the stone was installed. Seeing that the coping is yet to be put in and all the other comments here, I daresay the stone ordered through Arborcrest would have had the same destiny, and my mother's grave would still be unmarked 13 months after her passing. They know there's nothing we or any other customers can do, as we're not gonna dig up our loved ones to move them. So, they just don't care. It's abhorrent to charge people thousands of dollars for a service or product (especially in relation to their departed family), and not deliver for over a year! And of course, there's nobody to talk to above Walt, who's ruling the place like a tyrannical little king. Reading here that he actually THREATENS people with not completing their PAID for work for them and putting them "at the bottom of the file" is absolutely disgusting. I would really like to know where the actual head people in charge are? Who owns this place? Are they allowed to not be held accountable at all? At what point do clients need to start filing civil suits? In any case, if you're looking for a final resting place for your loved ones, THIS ISN'T IT. Move on ASAP.”
