“My sister was wanted to give her husband an Indian religious last rights service before his cremation. Flower Mound/Dalton allowed for 2 hour window for that service. I spoke to Cecil a year ago & then again last week when we were told the end was eminent. He was okay to deal with on the phone. The funeral day was quite disappointing & different. The attitude was absolutely horrible & rude. As I walked in I noticed a wreath sent for my brother-in-law sitting outside entrance, wilted & dried. I picked it up & brought it inside the funeral home. A man, whom l realized later was Cecil, hurried over to me & told me he would get me a stand. He did not offer to take the flowers or help me. No one greeted or talked to the family of the deceased but Cecil was quick to ask the family to move their candles, refuse to provide an extra sheet requested by the priest and even start clean up before the two hours could expire. I specifically advised Cecil that the family did not want to be present for the cremation and that request was ignored completely. Once the service was over, they did not close the casket or inform the family of the next steps. They rolled the body over to cremation with the wife & daughter following and them not knowing what was happening next since the coffin was not closed as they processed to cremation. Further, Cecil asked my niece to press the button - that was unforgivable, since he was already informed of our desires. The cremation area looked awful. The State of Texas should mandate that funeral homes be required to have a clean, presentable & dignified space for cremation. Our experience with this funeral home was disappointing, lacking in respect & dignity. Realizing they serve a captive group does not give them a right to provide horrible service. To boot, there are just a few funeral homes that allow for Indian last rights. Of course getting an Indian priest is another money making racket as well.”
