You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“The staff at Paradise was amazing! They took care of The Kingdom Queen like a Queen should be taken care of! I cannot leave a review without mentioning that breathtaking hearse! Very classy like Momma would want! Thank you for taking care of my Mom! Mario J. Thomas on behalf of Marsha E. Burton the Kingdom Queen!”

“Worst experience I've ever had with a funeral home and I spent some years in the industry when I was younger and have been to more than my share of funerals. NEVER have I experienced anything like the services this company offered to this grieving family. The entire staff was the most unorganized, unprofessional, uncaring people that I have ever seen in the business! THERE WAS NO COMPASSION SHOWN! We were moved multiple times because of staffs lack of communication and not taking the time to mark areas reserved for the family! Pall Bearers were in the procession line vaping Lord knows what, right in front of everyone. Chaos broke out, which should have been expected, due to the sensitivity of the situation and the police were called in (should have been there in the first place). It was a mad house! Obituaries were handed out when the funeral was almost over, so we had no clue what was going on! The door to the chapel was not closed during the service and they had a front doorbell going off and the phones ringing the entire time, causing continuous disruptions! There was not enough seating for everyone, so many of us were forced to stand up! No tissues were available for any of the grieving children or family and let's add to their trauma by having an open chapel with an entirely different body in it, open for everyone to see, as they were going to use the restroom! But wait it gets worse! At the cemetery, there was no lowering of the casket into the ground, it was basically dropped down into the 6 foot hole and you could hear it hit the ground! This wouldn't have happened if the funeral director was actually directing these people on what to do! No sooner than that happened they literally pulled the machine up and covered the grave! Like where was the respect? Could you have waited till some of the family left before just covering that boy's body like he was nothing? Your entire business and all the employees present at this particular funeral need to take lessons on empathy and compassion and put less focus on a quick dollar at the cost of a less fortunate family! Nothing about what I saw was done with any tact or respect and you should be ashamed of this being the representation that I got from my first time visiting your establishment. It will definitely be my last and I will make sure to never recommend this business to anyone!”

“The title line says it all – Paradise Funeral Home My family was so pleased with Paradise Funeral Home are amazing. At a time that is most difficult for the Harris's Family, Mr. Gray and his staff were very sensitive, thoughtful, caring and thorough. They went above and beyond what most people wouldn't do. The staff at Paradise Funeral Home left nothing to chance and were there for the family, they made a hard time in our lives much more bearable and beautiful. We will be forever grateful to Mr. Gray and his staff. I would highly recommend Paradise Funeral Home to anyone that resigned in the state of Arkansas or Pine Bluff Arkansas. 🙏 Thanks, (A) Harris Family”
