You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I would like to acknowledge Amy at Gardens Funeral Home for the exceptional level of care she provides. In a time when compassion and competence are equally needed, Amy demonstrated both with clarity and grace. She treat my father with dignity and supported our family with professionalism, patience and genuine kindness. She communicated clearly, guided us through each step with confidence and made a very difficult situation feel more manageable. Amy is someone who truly takes pride in her work and in her community. She is attentive, communicative and deeply committed to the families she serves. This is more than a job to her, it is a calling. Fallon is fortunate to have her in this role. Her compassion and standard of care made a meaningful difference and we are sincerely grateful. This experience has been the opposite of what we went through in 2017 with our mother. Thank you Amy!”

“Our family was assisted by the Gardens Funeral Home during our recent loss of a family member, from the first nighttime phone call to the conclusion at the services and celebration of life. You will not find more compassionate care than the wonderful assistance they provide during the whole process, which is the most trying time for families. I recommend them wholeheartedly.”

“If I could just say if I could give 500 stars I would. I had the pleasure of dealing with Amy, she was so kind and empathetic to my situation. Amy picked up my fur baby and brought her back to me the same day with such care and compassion. Amy made what was such a hard situation for me so much easier she truly cares and I can not say enough great things about my experience. 🦋”
