“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”

The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Darren took such great care to make this experience as good as it could possibly have been. He assisted us when my dad passed in 2024 and having him to guide me through my mother’s was an absolute blessing. The whole team is fantastic. I wish I had the gentleman’s name who transported my mother. He was so incredibly professional and caring. And the office staff expressed such care and concern in their interactions with. Thank you all for guiding us through our loss.”

“Abel Funeral Home staff were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. They responded quickly to questions and were caring. I live out-of-state from deceased, they helped me fill out the forms accurately and kept me apprised with emails. Their prices were clearly itemized and prices were reasonable. I would certainly recommend them”

“Heather was very helpful and kind while assisting me with the process for my grandma. The receptionist who answered the phone was also very nice. However, I was disappointed when I went in to pick up the remains. An older woman at the reception desk didn’t acknowledge me at all—no greeting or offer to help. I noticed she smiled and spoke kindly to an older gentleman she was assisting, but I didn’t receive the same courtesy. Another staff member walking by also didn’t acknowledge me. I feel that better customer service is especially important in sensitive situations like this.”
