You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Prestige Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory provided exceptional care and compassion during one of the most difficult times of our lives. From the very first call, their team was professional, kind, and attentive to every detail. They treated our loved one with the utmost dignity and made sure our family felt supported and understood every step of the way. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled smoothly, allowing us to focus on celebrating our loved one’s life. The service was beautiful, heartfelt, and perfectly organized. Prestige truly lives up to its name offering not just a service, but genuine care, comfort, and compassion. I highly recommend them to any family in need of trusted, compassionate, and professional funeral care.”

“My original review included details as to why I was unhappy with the ashes I received. Brandon reached out to my uncle instead of me to try to convince me to remove my review. His messages to my uncle made it clear that he only cares about the public perception of his business, not about my specific experience I was unhappy with. There was no accountability. The only reason Brandon reached out to me, even though I was the one with the issue, was because I emailed his business page (privately) and called the cremation lazy (his exact words, “I didn’t intend on reaching out to you personally…until I noticed your submission on our website…calling the performance of [my mom’s] cremation lazy”). It would appear Brandon struggles both with ego & with ensuring his business’s public perception stays pristine. If I had gotten a response that displayed even a modicum of compassion or accountability, this review wouldn’t exist. Unfortunately for us both, that isn’t what I received. I originally included a a screenshot of a text sent to my uncle showing Brandon’s main concern was for his business, not my experience, but I want to keep my uncle out of this so it was removed. Feel free to message me for more details.”

“Words cannot express the gratitude my family and I have for Brandon Martin and the entire team at Prestige Memorial Funeral Home. During one of the most difficult times in our lives, they provided exceptional care, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring that everything was handled with the utmost respect, dignity, and PRESTIGE . Our beloved Peanut "Gerald" Hardy was honored in a way that truly reflected his life and legacy. With 2 miles of cars to escort from my family's home to the Venue, over 1,200 attendees at the memorial service, and half of those people accompanying us to the burial and repast, Brandon and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate every guest with grace and efficiency. From the seamless coordination of the service to the warmth and kindness shown to every visitor, their dedication was evident in every detail. We are forever grateful for their support, patience, and attention to detail. If you are looking for a funeral home that will treat your loved one and family with honor, care, and excellence, I wholeheartedly recommend Prestige Memorial Funeral Home. Thank you, Brandon Martin and team, for making this difficult time a little easier and ensuring that Peanut’s memory was celebrated beautifully.”
