“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“When my husband recently passed away, his pre-arranged funeral arrangements were taken care of by Curlew Hills. The process was absolutely wonderful, respectful and dignified. Kayla was wonderful to work with and took care of every little detail. I would recommend Curlew Hills Memory Gardens to anyone. They truly made this a beautiful celebration of my husband. Thank you Kayla, and Curlew Hills. Sandy Wiza”

“My family met with Cassandra to complete the funeral arrangements for my husband/ their father. Everyone was very kind, sympathetic during the process. Cassandra was very well aware of me being very overwhelmed and took her time with me. The day after the funeral we returned to the cemetery for the final blessings with our deacon and the funeral assistant, they had set up a beautiful setting honoring my husband’s time in the Marines with flags along the walkway and marine flag nearby. We really appreciate that as well! During a very difficult time they made it go smoothly. So thank you everyone!”

“My dad passed recently and we had his services here. Kayla helped us through the process and was incredibly kind and compassionate during what was a very difficult time for us. She answered all of our questions and coordinated a beautiful service for my dad. Jacob did a wonderful job preparing my dad for the service. We were worried he wouldn’t look like himself, but we were very happy and relieved when we saw him. This is arguably the most difficult task, and Jacob went above and beyond. Rachel helped us as we inspected the casket and tested the memorial slideshow we made. We ran into a minor issue on our end, but Rachel was patient and helped us through it. While we never met Cassandra, I called the office with a question and she was incredibly kind and helpful. There were several other associates who made a positive impact, but unfortunately I don’t have all of their names. Multiple visitors complimented the cemetery and said it was the nicest they’d seen. The grounds are well maintained and it’s a beautiful area. On behalf of myself and my entire family, we are beyond grateful to Curlew and everyone who helped us organize the services and burial.”
