You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My 6lb Shizue Tebow passed away January 29 on a Friday around 2:15pm. He was 18-20 years old and so little. He was my baby boy and he always knew when I didn't feel good or if I was depressed or even hurting. He was always there for me. I had him a little over 15 years and he had a good loving home & very spoiled he was. I didn't know what to do because I wanted him with me at home. My son recommended me to Petcare that's where he took his baby Bride to. He said it was a really good place. So I called and talked with Shay she was really nice and told me what all they do. She also sent me pictures because I asked her too so I could see what all they had. I still wasn't for sure what I wanted to do so I called her back and told her my husband and son was on their way up there. She told me that she would take wonderful care of my baby boy Tebow that he was in good hands. Now that might not have been her exact words, but she was just the sweetest lady and everything Shay said to me made me feel so comfortable. My husband went and picked Tebow up that Saturday morning. When he brought him home I couldn't look or touch the bag. I wasn't ready yet because it was just too soon for me. I miss him so much and it sometimes just doesn't feel real. It took me about a week or so and I finally did and yes I cried like a baby. PetCare and Shay did a beautiful job with my baby boy. I would highly recommend PetCare to take care of your baby. The paw 🐾 prints are exactly like his they did a wonderful job on his 🐾. Thanks again Shay and PetCare!! God Bless y'all.”

“Everyone here was incredibly kind and caring when we brought our cat Stromboli in after a solid 20-year run. They provided locks of fur, whiskers, ink prints of his paw and nose, and a nice little urn. We also purchased the clay paw print in the frame and it turned out great. The prices were very reasonable. Everything was done super quickly and with a lot of care.”

“Absolutely wonderful group of people and I will absolutely be back if needed. Hopefully not for a long while. I lost my rat, Rind, on the 14th. Yesterday, I called around just anywhere because I knew I wanted him with me forever. The staff was amazing. If they gave me names, I unfortunately don’t remember, I was in shambles dropping my baby off yesterday. I picked a beautiful urn for him. You all don’t know my boy like I did, but I promise you it’s the perfect urn for him. He was my green, like the fresh grass. Always greeting me with big sniffs and licks. He was a very loud sniffer ❤️🩹 Petcare cremations handled my boy with so much care even though he was gone, apologized profusely for my loss. I didn’t know they were giving me his hair and a little tag that had his name on it so that was beautiful to open the bag to. Rind’s remaining brother, Porky, will be ecstatic to have the urn close by to see his brother still. I absolutely recommend this place if you need somewhere to go to keep your furbabies with you forever ❤️ I’ll include a picture of my silly man when he was here.”
