You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Jenna was so caring and took great care of our family during such a hard time. She’s so loving and so soft spoken. She had checked in to make sure me and my family were okay after such a difficult time. Thank you Jenna and William Funeral Home for such a smooth process.”

“Over the past several months, we have had to use the pet cremation services through Williams several times and can’t say enough positive things about how compassionate and caring every member of the staff was even when one of our fur babies passed after hours. Unfortunately we recently had to use Williams Funeral Home for services related to the death of my father. Daddy had prepaid his funeral and burial expenses but there were still a few details and the scheduling of the actual service that had to be taken care of. I will admit that I was a little nervous because I have always been more familiar with other local funeral homes. However, Jenna and the rest of the staff at Williams absolutely won me over by going far beyond what “doing their jobs” would have involved. Jenna took my father’s information and helped to create a perfect obituary and also planned the order of the service and my chosen songs better than I could have done myself. This was a very unexpected and difficult situation made much easier to navigate with her help and the help of her colleagues. The service was beautiful and I know my dad was pleased. ❤️”

“We had unexpectedly lost our fur baby on 8-28-21. Williams Funeral Home was the 1st place I had called to have my girl cremated. The employees were so respectful & very helpful throughout the whole process! I’m very satisfied with their service & I adore my baby’s urn! We chose to have her picture engraved & the picture below was the 1 we had chosen to use & as you can see in the photo of her urn, it is identical to our girl! Thank you Williams Funeral Home for helping us during this difficult time & thank you Brad for going above & beyond to do Lucy’s paw prints for us!”
