You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I'm posting on behalf of my Mama🩷 MMG did a superior job. Mr Clay treated each person like family. He cared very much about each detail explaining it just right to each of us. He is courteous, professional & couldnt have said 1 word better. Mr Clay our funeral director made the best experience possible to see my sweet 🩷Mama🩷 🩷Pat🩷Holder🩷Boudousquie🩷 go to heaven. Miss Violet who artistically put together pictures on my Mamas slideshow did an excellent job with each picture. Miss Keywana answering every phone call with kindness, there were a few, & helping direct the day of. Mr. Corey who did my Mama's make up was delightful to see. The chapel & the grounds are very pretty. I'm glad my Mama chose wisely to rest at Mobile Memorial Gardens thank you for such a calming experience. It's very nice to know she is Resting there until she goes to her forever home with God in heaven. I miss & love you Mama!!!!!! A big thank you to all of you at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 🫶Linda Boudousquie”

“The services we received for my dads funeral was awful. Kade was impossible to reach even though he originally promised us full access to him "even if its 2am". He was never in the office. Office staff gave us the run around for 3 weeks on how to get a death certificate, giving us inaccurate information, then we were told the staff were busy and wouldn't be able to get back to us until the next day. I can't think of one thing that we discussed with Kade and decided on that he followed through on. We had our service a month after my dads death so there should have been more than enough time to get these details handled. As a 20 year veteran-and just as a human-, my dad deserved dignity, respect and care in his funeral services. Instead we received a grainy pixelated photo printed as his portrait, the programs printed incorrectly, trying to blame us for not sending things in that were sitting in their inbox, Kade offered, without us asking, to bring in some books as my dad was a lover of reading and then on the day of the funeral when asked about them he said "my dog ate up the corners so I couldnt bring it." He just forgot and then literally blamed 'my dog ate my homework.' The funeral home have contacted us in attempts to "make things right" in offering a reprint of the portrait and offering a new urn because the one they gave us was the wrong one. However, the purposed of this review is not to just drag a local establishment, but to help prevent other families from the pain and exhaustion Mobile Memorial Gardens have caused us. Did I mentioned when they forgot to split my dads ashes up correctly like originally clearly requested, Kade gave us 1 box that included 3 *ziploc bags* of his ashes that we had to distribute ourselves? .... There is nothing that can be done to make this right.”

“My recent experience with Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home was excellent. I worked with Jay Towne to schedule and plan the graveside services for my nephew, Charles Melvin Spence, Jr. Although there were some complications we had to work through due to my nephew’s situation, Jay made the process smoother and eased my anxieties. He was not only very knowledgeable and professional but caring and sympathetic. He was very comforting from the first time I talked with him until I drove away from the cemetery. If I need to deal with Mobile Memorial Gardens again, I will definitely request to be placed with Jay. He is a great ambassador for your business and a comfort to the family.”
