“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Francesca the nurse in the er She provided exceptional care and support during a very difficult moment when I was experiencing a panic attack. She stayed beside me, held my hand, and reassured me that I was okay. Her calm presence and willingness to pray with me helped me through the situation. I truly appreciated her compassion, patience, and dedication to making sure I felt safe and supported”

“I was sent to Labor & Delivery by my doctor for evaluation. When I arrived, the front desk receptionist was very kind and patient, which I really appreciated. I arrived at 5:00 p.m. and saw my nurse shortly after being placed in the room. She was very nice and answered all my questions before leaving around 5:15 p.m. She mentioned that my ultrasound order had been placed and that the wait could be between 30 minutes to an hour, which I completely understood. However, after she left, I didn’t see another nurse until 8:00 p.m. I eventually had to call and request a nurse to check in because I had been waiting two hours for an ultrasound. When the new nurse arrived, I was told my ultrasound order had been entered incorrectly, which explained the delay. During that time, my husband and children were with me, and there was only one chair in the room. No one offered additional seating or checked to see if we were comfortable. What disappointed me most was the overall lack of warmth and communication from the staff during my visit. I understand triage goes by urgency, but this area serves expectant mothers, and a little compassion and reassurance go a long way. I’m scheduled to give birth at this hospital in a few weeks, and as a mom who has experienced loss before, this visit left me feeling uneasy. I truly hope this was just an off night because I want to feel confident and supported when it’s time to deliver my baby.”

“My mother was brought to the ED by ambulance at 11am due to a suspected broken bone. She was put in the waiting room and not taken back to a room upon arriva. 3 hours after arrival someone came out to check her vitals but left her in the waiting room. Almost 5 HOURS later, they finally got her for x-rays and then brought her BACK to the waiting room still without pain management and said it took so long because they "forgot to put in orders" even though she was brought via ambulance. She wasn't called back to see a doctor until almost 6 HOURS after arriving. She needed MORE scans and didn't get pain management and a bed until 6 5 HOURS after arrival for a broken ankle that needs surgery. The hospital is absolutely negligent for their failure to input orders for a patient who arrived by ambulance with a broken ankle and then making that patient wait for 6.5 HOURS to get pain management, a bed and to be seen. Absolutely unacceptable. We requested a patient advocate to which they said they didn't have one "after hours" and gave us info to call. Do NOT come here in an emergency, they obviously fail at basic care and will leave you or your loved ones in agony and at risk for serious medical complications for hours and hours. I would rate it less than 1 star if possible.”
