Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Treated my brother with the upmost respect and care. Very responsive staff with after-hour support. Big shoutout to Michaelia for staying on top of everything, guiding us through the process and making us feel prioritized in such a hard time for our family. You truly get what you pay for and this business deserves nothing but 5 stars. I wouldn’t have done anything different. Thank you all for everything!”

“With so much else going, it was great how Angelia and everyone at Olinger took care of all the details after my mom died. And not just the beautiful funeral and reception, but all the other stuff too (cremation, death certificates, etc). They made everything a lot easier for our family and were kind and patient throughout the entire process. I recommend Olinger because they are the best.”

“This is ridiculous. I was online just on the internet, just searching for my estranged son when I come across this obituary, Dr. Leon Robinson and it's sure it's a numbers on my face. It has a picture of my only son. So when I called and asked them After I had a total mental breakdown in conniptions, you got a obituary of my only son, that's his picture had no idea. He they had him, listen as deonte, Leon Robinson, Dr. Leon, I confirm his real name and I was told that did not have anybody in their cemetery named Dr. Leon or Dante Leon Robinson? This was proximately in 2021. Now, all of a sudden, a have a body of my son in the garden of atonement, are you kidding me? Who does that then when I go in? And try to post some pictures of my son, somebody is undoubting the pictures after I upload the photo, they have blocked that, how dare them? I don't know what to say other than, you know, that's pretty ratchet. He had a mother and I am his biological mother, so what gives them the right to go in there? And do what they have done. They have put me under a great deal of mental direct. And i'm sick of them”
