You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I come to the Cemetery as often as I can, which is usually once per week. This is absolutely the most awesome Cemetery ever! I don't know if people are aware of the Baby Cemetery which is a little further up Skyline Blvd., and the St. Joseph part of the Cemetery up further Skyline Blvd. Awesome places to view. The view from the upper level is amazing. Everyone is welcome to view it! Neat and clean and well kept, but keep your dogs off the premises as requested. Please show respect for our beloved dead! These people's spirits are alive and well here! My friends! See you in Heaven someday! AMDG.”

“Mt.Calvary Cath.Cem. would be the perfect place to visit my family and friends who are Beyond the Veil, but it's always closed. I can't even put flowers on my grandmother's grave, because it's always closed. Many of us who work, even if we get off work a bit early to get to this cemetery? Find it frustratingly impossible anyway, because then rush hour traffic makes it next to impossible. Those 9 to 5 hours MCCC has? Are just impossible for working folks like me and many others I've spoke too at the entrance that are just as frustrated. Even though I may be the only person saying something here on this site? Trust it's because people feel saying something won't change a thing! I'm also NOT the only person who's forked out 10s of thousands of dollars to NOT be able to peacefully visit those we've had buried here. I've pulled my husbands and my own plot because of it. We will be buried in Willamette Valley Cem. from here on. I have 6 children. Which means they too work, and won't want impossible hours. Just to come visit me or their father when we pass on. I have asked Mt. Calvary on 3 occasions to please either close later or open earlier. Everything it's an emphatic NO! They are very aware that once you have someone buried there that it is not likely you will move your deceased loved one to another Cemetery because you can't go visit them. It's way more expensive than just the usual burial price. So they're very aware that they have you over Lock Stock and barrel. They're quite indignant about this fact and will even say well the dead don't change their hours maybe you should. That's so nice to hear over the phone when all you want to do is see someone you loves burial site and bring them flowers. But of course, once they have your money and the custody of your deceased loved one? They then don't have to be nice. Atleast that has been our experience with the snooty employee(s) on the phone.”

“My beautiful grandson is laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery. I love it here and the location is perfect. The staff are caring and loving people. They made sure to take care of our beloved grandson. The landscape is always taken care of. I never see any trash or mess around the cemetery. Again thank you everything.”
