You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“UPDATE: THE CRACK HAS BEEN REPAIRED! THANK YOU FLORAL GARDENS! (Picture included-November 2025) Update on crack: as of July 13, 2025 the stone has not been replaced. On Feb.13 it was en route from Italy?? Just a comparable local stone would be fine and allow funds to mow and take care of the Veterans area. I could not believe what I saw when I walked down there! What a shame. Pictured below. I first reported this crack from where something crashed into the mausoleum at the top of the hill in front of the chapel on September 9, 2024 in person at the office. As of November 30, 2024 it was still not fixed. I've left 2 messages for the manager to call me back and no one has called. My parents are interred in one of these with the crack. Not sure if this is a structural hazard and an exposure to elements? If I could move them to another cemetery I would. It is disrespectful not to return calls and not to address concerns about our loved ones final resting place.”

“Although we did not use Floral Garden Park Cemetery’s services, we can attest to the sincerity and honesty of Keri-Ann, a rep for the cemetery. We spent time going over details re urn placement and all its costs. She did not push, or pull, us in any direction re the many choices. She was quick to address our concerns in person and through texts and emails. Floral Garden Park is fortunate to have Keri-Ann on its staff.”

“I was recently in town for the holidays and thought I would stop by to “visit” my great grandparents who I had very fond memories of. I called the week before to get a map, but when we got there I couldn’t find their grave. I called the office and spoke with Kordell. He patiently spent his time with me directing me as I walked to locate my relatives. He also offered to drive over to help me, but as it was a nice day, I enjoyed the walk. I appreciated his help so much, and also the help of the gentleman that helped me the week before, I stopped by the office on my way out to meet them and say thank you.”
