You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My Mom, Son and Brother are buried at Green Hills. My son passed in 2021. I have an issue with grass not being mowed. I've had to Call, leave notes and beg for the grass to be mowed. He's ability for compassion is blurred.”

“The Scott Monuments at Green hills are my in-laws. As for the staff talking very nice when we have had conversations about the condition of both graves (both have been sunk in from early after internment) , the condition has remained the same even though we were promised it would be taken care of. Now my Granddaughter is right behind those graves for the past year....in the same condition. She dies at 25 and has had several visitors who have commented about it. So once again, we will attempt tp address the issue. And follow up with a written request. I will post again regarding this. Today is , 01 January 2021.”

“My mother had passed away this past year and did not prepare us for her untimely death. Upon living in the area for most of her adult life nearby, I chose this cemetery as her resting place. She was Catholic by her religious choice, but this cemetery caters to those of all religious backgrounds. The staff was very friendly and empathizes with you on the delicacy of the situation when picking a resting place for your loved one. The prices of plots are fairly reasonable, in my honest opinion, compared to some other area cemeteries I have previously looked into. There are various views around the cemetery. Some views are pleasing to the eye and one would think your loved one would enjoy the spot you or they had picked out for them. Of course, the lady in the office already had an idea of a plot spot picked. It is a mapping of all the open, reserved and currently occupied plots. We personally liked the section where they took us. I truly believed it was a beautiful view for my mother's resting spot and as a mourning sanctuary for our family and friends. It is peaceful and serene. I also enjoy learning about my mother's plot site neighbors. Even their families have been a welcoming comfort and we can continue preserving our loved one's fondest memories. The grounds are kept up regularly and rules of the cemetery are enforced to keep up the integrity of your loved one's grave. Those were the positives. I however wish the cemetery was open in the evenings during the week for those that are wanting to visit and mourn after they get off from work or visiting from out of state. Although, in some cases I understand the reasoning for the general during the day hours. It's just not as realistically convenient for others. It is, what it is. Ugh... Red clay dirt, how you slay our mountains! The downfall is the dirt stains the monuments and headstones. For future reference for anyone, look into a good cleaner or find out on how to preserve and clean your headstone or monument before purchasing one. It truly is up to you at that point for personal integrity upkeep of them. Entering and exiting the cemetery can be a nightmare and really dangerous at times. It's always a cautionary and defensive driving zone onto Leicester for many decades. On the brightside, you know there's a special place up the hill in your future... lol. Maybe one day there will be some sort of traffic light or the city stepping in to at least lowering the speed limit down to 30mph on the highway to stop all the severe and potential accidents.”
