You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“During difficult times, All-States Cremation was compassionate, professional, and incredibly helpful. They were transparent with pricing and explained everything clearly, which I appreciated. Their guidance and advice made a hard process much easier to navigate. I’m very grateful for their honesty and care, and I would highly recommend them.”

“DO NOT GO HERE!!! Absolutely horrible experience. We lost a family member on a Friday afternoon, and were suggested to send his body to this facility. Being in shock and grieving, our family obliged. Most of our family was driving/flying from out of state to come deal with matters for the weekend, and we were wanting to have things dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our plans were to have a quick simple unprepared viewing for immediate family, and have his body cremated directly after. We had the worst time, getting ahold of anyone for coordination efforts. For having a "24-hour service" we were unable to contact them to even confirm where the body was. The best they could offer was to have an appointment the NEXT Friday to discuss plans and pricing options for viewing services, and to discuss their "packages". This was less than ideal for family coming from out of state. We couldn't even briefly see the body before proceeding. Absolutely appalling. Eventually we had to call another company to have the body transferred just so that we could have a simple private viewing for immediate family to say goodbye. The other company was gracious and allowed us to view the body, the following Tuesday, and cremated directly after, no planning or appointments needed. We were still charged $400 for the transfer fee. Again DO NOT reccomend this company.”

“I have worked with All-States Cremation (Wheat Ridge) twice, most recently after my Mom passed. We had taken advantage of cremation pre-planning, which was a blessing. It was a bit of a long meeting and lots of paperwork, but worth the peace of mind of knowing I wouldn't have to deal with all of that in the midst of grief and crisis. My experiences with Natalie and later Gillian were very pleasant and positive. Not only did All-States provide guidance and help along the way, but after she passed, I continued to receive periodic check ins, offers for support and resources, etc. A family is not abandoned after a person's funeral. They truly care about and respect their clients and clients' families. Their professionalism and kindness made a very difficult time a little easier.”
