You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Tucked quietly into the desert, San Pedro Chapel feels like one of those places you drive past a hundred times before finally stopping… and then wonder why you didn’t sooner. I attended a beautiful yoga + sound bath collaboration with El Ritual Wellness, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The historic adobe chapel sits hidden among desert brush, part of a small cluster of buildings and outdoor gathering spaces that make the whole area feel peaceful and intentionally preserved. Practicing somatic yoga inside the chapel was incredible. The acoustics carried the sound bath effortlessly through the space, and the combination of soft instruments, birds outside, and the quiet desert atmosphere made it feel deeply grounding. By the end I felt completely rested and reset. The venue itself is simple but stunning — exposed wood beams, warm adobe walls, and that old-world Tucson history you just can’t replicate in modern spaces. Such a special event space. I’m so glad I finally stopped to check out San Pedro Chapel after passing that parking lot so many times.”

“I found this little gem on my way to Le Buzz on Fort Lowell Rd. It's a lovely little SW Chapel. The doors were locked but I was able to look into the windows. The benches are primitive. The rafters are beautiful wooden beams with Wrot iron chandeliers. The windows have wooden shutters. The bathrooms and a small kitchen are in another building in back. There are 2-3 Occotilla ramadas on the Chapel grounds with festive outdoor stringed lights. Photography is my hobby, and this was a treasure trove!”

“I had my wedding and reception at San Pedro and I couldn’t have picked a better place! The day was truly magical with the chapel, desert scape and Mountain View’s!!! If you’re having a smaller wedding you should seriously consider this as your venue, you won’t be disappointed!! I also worked with Mollee as our full time wedding planner and she’s absolutely amazing to work with and will help make anything you want happen!!”
