You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“When my mom passed away, everyone at Moles Tributes and Crematory demonstrated, empathy, support and respect during a very difficult time. It began with Amy and Tony showing up with a white rose expressing their condolences. They treated my mom with such dignity and grace. When we met with Stephanie and shared that we had a limited time line to get my mom's ashes so that we could have a memorial service before my brother had to return home, she made things happen. She not only walked us through the process with compassion, she had everything done within 2 days. We were extremely grateful. I was surprised to receive a follow up check-in from Moles asking me how we were doing and offering resources. Moles Tributes and Crematory went above and beyond our expectations and made what was a very difficult time seem more manageable. I highly recommend their services.”

“I am a social worker and a caregiver who can attest to the experience that one is never fully prepared for even an anticipated death. I am extremely grateful to Moles Funeral Home for responding immediately to an unexpected-expected situation and taking the reins to compassionately and smoothly lead us through to a culminating closure per our loved one's requests. This exceptional team softened the difficult steps and helped us towards a beautiful experience even though it required a timeline and a ferry to an island. I am so appreciative of the support. Moles Funeral Home was a blessing for us.”

“I chose Moles to take care of my loved one's cremation service in October 2025. The service i received was disappointing and left me wishing i had chosen another company for the service. The full cost for basic cremation service without any of the extras is around $5,000. Nearly $3,000 of this is to cover the pay for a few staff that work in the office. I met with the director who was setting up the initial service. The date of death was incorrect the first few attempts to print paperwork and due to a "lack of coffee". At one point the director assured me that "we don't have any creepy lurches in the basement". To their credit, they said they like interject humor into the interaction. Sure, fair, but the timing and the subject of the humor made it very ill-received. When I paid for services, their computers weren't working and the receipt they said they would send me er showed up. I had to go in and ask for it 6 weeks later. I waited to hear from them. I was anxious to pick up the remains for the memorial. The weeks went by. I could've called but I wanted them to do their job that pays so well. I called after 5 weeks of not hearing...no voicemail. The office person fumbled around to make up excuses why they didn't call..they didn't have the right number, the voicemail didn't come through...it was clearly forgotten. Months later I find out my loved one's social security payments were not stopped because Moles failed to notify social security which is something they are supposed to do. It is upsetting to pay so much, especially in a monetarily tight time of overwhelming grief, and be met with blunder after blunder.”
